Katsa´s Drivetrain Gearbox expertise introduced at DSEI 2019 London
Katsa Oy has over 30 years’ experience in designing and manufacturing the most demanding Drivetrain gearbox solutions for heavy utility vehicles in civil and for armoured vehicles defence sectors.
Over the years Katsa has been best known of its expertise in Transfer-Cases, Dropboxes and Upboxes. The Transfer-Case is usually the best component to be tailored to link powerpack and drivetrain axles smoothly together. In Transfer-Cases Katsa can provide tailored solutions up to engine power ~1000 kW and output torque ~45 kNm with differential.
In addition to traditional Drivetrain gearboxes, Katsa has developed gearboxes for electric drivetrain solutions.
- Katsa´s new Electric Drivetrain gearbox has two ratios and speed ranges. Reduction ratio increases torque which helps to select the Electric motor as optimally sized to vehicles nominal usage and peak torques can be handled with Katsa´s gearbox reduction ratio. Electric Motor can be mounted directly to the gearbox with SAE standard flange fitting and output connection is a flexibly selected driveshaft flange, for example XS-150, XS-180 etc.
- Katsa´s innovative Wheel Hub Drive is designed for Hybrid or Full Electric heavy vehicles. New design enables to fit the Electric motor almost fully inside the Hub. This makes the complete hub and motor package short and helps turning the wheels. The Wheel Hub is rated to ~70 kW Electric motor and Wheel Loads Radial max. 114 kN, Axial max. 21 kNm
