Still no major difficulties at Katsa due to Covid-19
Katsa released previous Covid-19 news on March 20, 2020.
Situation has not changed almost at all at Katsa during past 4 weeks. Katsa factories are working almost as usually and delivery schedules are still mainly unchanged.
Since Parliament of Finland approved emergency laws proposed by the Finnish Government on Wednesday the 18th of March, 2020, Finland has made several restrictions for everyday life of citizens. In Tampere region the restrictions have been less influencing than in Helsinki region. The Finnish Government started to cancel some of the restrictions since Wednesday the 15th of April, 2020. The future will show, how economies will be able to pass this pandemic.
Katsa has continued all the improved processes to avoid our employees and partners to get the virus. Until now we have been successful and still no cases at Katsa. Actually sick leave rate is now lower than usually during spring time.
Katsa employees are still not making business trips. Sales is operated remotely. Our orders booked in March were on a very good level. Thank you for our customers for your trust on us to be able to handle the business. Our work load now in April is extremely good.
We have analysed a lot of our in-coming items and especially their origins. Some currently critical items have been found due to the origin factory being now shut down, but our inventories are estimated to be enough for all our supply during April and May and furthermore our procurement is ensuring at the moment suppliers deliveries for June and July. Some of our customer factories are also shut down due to local restrictions, but until now Katsa has met no order cancellations. We expect the impact of Corona virus Covid-19 being modest by the end of coming May.
We encourage our customers to contact us with any gear component and/or gearbox supply difficulties you may face globally. We are ready to help you. Consider your preparations for coming summer months and be pro-active with your actual ordering needs and possible inventory increase to be flexible to support your customers during June, July and August.
